Executive summary
AI answer engines now sit between an Indian buyer and the firm they hire to build it. We ran 25 questions across five categories with live web search, then recorded every organisation named and every source cited. The run produced 375 citations from 302 domains.
Fractal Analytics leads on 16.0 percent, TCS takes 8.8 and the DPDP Act 8.8. That leading score is unusually low, and an Indian data law placing third tells you how much of this market is about trust.
The answers barely repeat themselves. Only 14 of the 100 organisations named appear on more than one question, and in three of the five categories every single name is different. There is no shared view of who does this work.

Visibility score method: each question ranks five entities. Rank one earns 1.00 point, rank two 0.80, down to 0.20 for rank five. Scores are totalled across 25 questions and divided by 25. Every entity named is ranked, whatever its type.
Type shows what kind of organisation each entity is. AI engines name laws, ministries, standards, law firms, banks and job platforms alongside analytics firms. All of them are ranked here, because all of them take up space in the answer.

An established analytics firm leads, but two model builders appear below the IT giants. The sources are directories and listicles, with one press piece framing Sarvam AI and Krutrim as India's sovereign AI contenders.
