GetXEO vs Otterly AI
Otterly AI is the cheapest serious entry into AI visibility in this comparison, at twenty nine dollars a month, and its crawler audit tests more named bots than any other in this comparison. It tests nineteen AI crawlers against robots.txt and against the live server, and separately fetches a page as four named bots to compare the static HTML with the rendered version. Nothing else in this comparison publishes that second check. It does not write content. So the comparison turns on two things: what a fifteen prompt plan covers, and whether the gap you have is knowing or shipping.
We publish this page and sell GetXEO, one of the two products compared here. Every Otterly AI figure was read on that vendor's own pages on 28 August 2026.
In short
The questions this page answers, and the short answers.
- What is the main difference between GetXEO and Otterly AI?
- Otterly AI finds the problem and tells you how to fix it. It audits crawler access, scores pages, researches prompts and writes content briefs. GetXEO does that reporting too and then produces the pages themselves. One ends at the recommendation, the other ends at published work.
- How much does Otterly AI cost?
- Twenty nine dollars a month for the entry plan with fifteen search prompts, one hundred and eighty nine for one hundred prompts, and four hundred and eighty nine for four hundred. Annual billing takes fifteen percent off. The enterprise tier starts from one thousand dollars a month.
- Which AI engines does Otterly AI track?
- Four come with every plan: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are paid add ons priced per tier, so the seven engine figure on the site is what you get after buying three extras rather than what a plan includes.
- Does Otterly AI check whether AI crawlers can read a site?
- Yes, and in two layers. Its audit tests nineteen AI crawlers against robots.txt and then against the live server, recording what each one is actually served. A separate crawlability check fetches a URL as OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityCrawler or Googlebot and compares the static HTML with the rendered version, so you see what those four engines receive.
- Who should choose Otterly AI over GetXEO?
- Anyone with a small budget, a solo marketer or a small team, since twenty nine dollars against a thousand is not a close call. Also any team whose real question is technical rather than editorial, or one that needs an API, an MCP endpoint or a reporting connector, none of which GetXEO publishes.
The chain that produces a citation
Five links, and this rival owns the fourth outright.
| Link | What it decides | Otterly AI | GetXEO |
|---|---|---|---|
| The questions | What you write about | Prompt research | Simulated behavior |
| The structure | Whether authority builds | Not published | A blog mesh |
| The craft | Whether a passage is liftable | Briefs and scores | Every block |
| The delivery | Whether engines can use it | 19 crawlers tested | 3 pillar audit |
| The number | Whether any of it worked | 4 engines, 3 more paid | AEO, GEO, SEO |
Read the delivery row and take it seriously. Otterly AI does more here than GetXEO does, and it publishes the largest crawler count in this comparison. The open links are structure and craft, and even on craft the gap is narrower than it looks, because Otterly AI scores and briefs rather than simply reporting. What it does not do is produce the pages.
How Otterly AI works
Research the prompts, test the crawl, score the page.
Otterly AI describes itself as a content intelligence platform for AI search, built to research, monitor and optimize. Monitoring covers brand mentions, domain citations, sentiment and competitive benchmarking, with daily tracking on every published plan.
Engine coverage is sold in two parts. Four come with every plan: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are paid add ons, priced separately at each tier.
The audit is the strongest part. It tests nineteen AI crawlers against robots.txt and against the live server, recording what each one is served, and scores pages across fifteen structural checks and thirteen readiness dimensions. A separate crawlability check fetches a URL as OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityCrawler or Googlebot and compares the static HTML with the rendered version, so a team sees what those four receive rather than what a browser shows.
Output stops at advice. Recommendations, content briefs and a prioritized queue of on page and off page actions, plus a marketplace for booking a placement on a site engines already cite. Nothing is written or published for you.
How GetXEO works
One score across three layers, then the pages themselves.
GetXEO reads the brand first. It crawls the domain, classifies every URL, and builds a profile every downstream writer reads. It then derives the question universe and curates twenty five queries per pillar, each mapped back to the keyword or question it came from.
Those queries produce one composite score. The dashboard carries AEO, GEO and SEO sub scores, model citation rates and the change since the last scan. AEO polls answer engines, GEO covers AI summarized search and weights paragraph position, and SEO tracks the classic result page alongside AI Overviews.
Then the part that separates the two products. Blogs are produced as one connected set, the visualizer maps that mesh beside keyword clusters and competitor networks, and the calendar sequences refreshes, technical fixes and new posts across twelve weeks. Every block is written to survive being lifted away from its page.
The audit asks a different question from a crawl test. The GEO audit checks entity declarations, Organization schema, semantic HTML and knowledge graph signals, and the fixes arrive as a list a developer can work through.
What twenty nine dollars actually buys
The cheapest real answer to a real question.
The price gap here is the largest in this comparison and it deserves plain arithmetic rather than a shrug.
The entry plan is twenty nine dollars a month for fifteen search prompts, daily tracking on four engines, unlimited team members, unlimited brand reports, one workspace, three recommendations a week and a thousand audit runs. Fifteen prompts is genuinely small, and it is enough to answer one question well: is this brand showing up for the handful of queries that matter most in its category.
What the entry plan leaves out is worth naming. No API, no MCP endpoint, no agent analytics, no reporting connector, one workspace only, and recommendations capped at three a week. Those start on the middle plan at one hundred and eighty nine dollars with a hundred prompts.
Against that, GetXEO lists at one thousand dollars a month, shown at five hundred behind a discount, and the bulk of that fee is production: a hundred and fifty tracked questions and fifty blogs a month. A team that writes well already is paying for capacity it will not use. That is not a close judgment call and we will not pretend otherwise.
What Otterly AI does well
Four strengths, and the first is best in this comparison.
- Otterly AI tests the most named bots here. Nineteen AI crawlers tested against robots.txt and against the live server, and a static against rendered comparison for four named bots. Each AI operator crawls under its own user agent, so testing them one at a time is the right design. Otterly AI publishes the largest crawler count in this comparison, and its rendering check is the only one of its kind here
- The price is not close. Twenty nine dollars a month at entry, one hundred and eighty nine in the middle, four hundred and eighty nine at the top self serve tier, with fifteen percent off annually. For a solo marketer or a small team this is the difference between doing something and doing nothing
- It connects to what you already run. An API, an MCP endpoint and a Looker Studio connector from the middle plan upward, with CSV export on every plan, where GetXEO publishes no connector, API or MCP endpoint at all
- Agent analytics on your own logs. A lightweight integration at server, edge or CDN level, classifying which AI crawlers and agents engage with the site, which answers what actually arrived rather than what should be permitted to
Coverage breadth is a fifth. The plan rows carry multi country support at more than fifty countries on every tier, and the feature page puts the figure at sixty five. Either way it is well past the single market GetXEO sells into.
What GetXEO does well
Four strengths, and the first is the whole argument.
- The pages get written. Fifty blogs a month on the plan, produced as one connected mesh on a sequenced calendar rather than briefed and handed back. This is what the price difference buys
- The set is designed before the writing starts. The mesh is planned as a group so authority accumulates across it, which is the link neither product in this comparison other than GetXEO publishes anything about
- One composite across three layers. AEO, GEO and SEO roll into a single figure with model citation rates and the change since the last scan, including the classic result page rather than answer engines alone
- Questions without a prompt budget. A hundred and fifty tracked questions on the plan, against fifteen at the entry tier and four hundred at the top self serve tier opposite
Four limits are worth knowing. GetXEO lists at one thousand dollars a month, shown at five hundred behind a fifty percent discount, with no free plan underneath it. It polls four answer engines. It publishes no API, MCP endpoint or reporting connector. And it does nothing about earned mentions on sites you do not own.
Where GetXEO has an edge over Otterly AI
Two links, and one of them is doing the work.
Not the crawler audit, not the price, not the integrations and not the geographic reach. Otterly AI is ahead on all four and we have said so. Two things are left, and the first is blunt.
Somebody has to write the pages. Otterly AI ends at a brief, a score and a prioritized list. That is genuinely useful, and it is also the point at which the work starts rather than finishes. A team with writers can take a brief and run. A team without them has bought a very good description of a problem it still cannot fix. GetXEO produces the pages, and most of the price difference is exactly that.
The structure. Neither a brief nor a recommendation queue decides what set of pages should exist or how they relate. GetXEO designs the mesh first, so each post supports the others and authority compounds across the group rather than being won again at every URL. Our position is that the shape matters as much as the individual page, and we hold that as a design judgment rather than a measured finding.
What the research supports, and what it does not. Pages carrying figures, quotes and citations get named noticeably more often, though the same work ranks off site brand signals ahead of on page craft. So craft is one lever among several, and Otterly AI is right to sell a marketplace for offsite placements. Most B2B buyers now use AI somewhere in the buying process and more than half use it to compare vendors, which is why the gap between knowing and shipping costs shortlist places rather than traffic.
Who GetXEO is better suited for
Four positions for GetXEO, and four for the rival.
| Your situation | Better fit | Because |
|---|---|---|
| The pages still need writing | GetXEO | Fifty blogs a month on the plan |
| Publishing but nothing compounds | GetXEO | A designed set, not a brief list |
| Rankings hold, answers do not | GetXEO | One score across three layers |
| Your prompt list keeps growing | GetXEO | A hundred and fifty on the plan |
| Budget is the binding constraint | Otterly AI | Twenty nine dollars at entry |
| Crawler access is the question | Otterly AI | Nineteen crawlers tested live |
| Data must reach a BI tool | Otterly AI | API, MCP and a connector |
| You track many countries | Otterly AI | Multi country support on every tier |
GetXEO fits a marketing team that has the questions and not the pages. It suits a buyer who wants the set designed rather than a queue of briefs.
Otterly AI fits most people starting out. A solo marketer. A small team. Anyone whose first question is whether the crawlers can even get in. Anyone for whom a thousand dollars a month is not the conversation. On price this is the least evenly matched pair in the set, and it favors the other product.
Frequently asked questions
Longer tail questions that did not need a section of their own.
What does the Otterly AI entry plan include?
Fifteen search prompts, daily tracking, four AI engines, unlimited team members and unlimited brand reports, one workspace, three recommendations a week, multi country support and a thousand audit runs a month. It excludes the API, the MCP endpoint, agent analytics, the reporting connector, unlimited workspaces and unlimited recommendations, which start on the next plan up.
What is a search prompt in Otterly AI pricing?
One tracked query whose AI answers are monitored daily across the engines on your plan. The entry plan carries fifteen, the middle plan one hundred and the top self serve plan four hundred. The middle plan can buy up to three hundred more before Otterly AI moves the account to the tier above.
Does Otterly AI write content?
No. It produces content briefs, page scores across fifteen structural checks and thirteen readiness dimensions, and a prioritized queue of on page and off page recommendations. Those are advice rather than output. Its marketplace also lets you book a placement on a site engines already cite, which is the closest thing to an action it publishes.
What does a GetXEO technical audit add over a crawler check?
A different question rather than a deeper one. A crawler check answers whether a bot can reach and render the page. The GEO audit asks what the page then declares: entity markup, schema.org Organization data, semantic HTML and knowledge graph signals. Both matter, and Otterly AI is ahead on the first.
Is GetXEO worth seventeen times the price of Otterly AI?
Only if the pages are the gap. GetXEO includes fifty blogs a month produced as a connected set, which is the bulk of what the plan fee buys. A team that already writes well and only needs to know where it stands is paying for production it will not use, and Otterly AI answers that question for a fraction of the money.
